Alternatives to Vivid Seats and Gametime: the short answer
TicketScanner records daily prices for Gametime and Vivid Seats only, and has no recorded prices for StubHub and TickPick, so for the four other sites we compare what each says is in its shown price and how it is rated. On Trustpilot on Oct. 8, 2026, TickPick scored 4.7 from 5,507 reviews and StubHub 4.1 from 27,647 reviews, the highest and lowest scores among the five sites we checked.
None of these sites publishes a fee rate. When we took the cheapest seat at five games to checkout on Oct. 8, 2026, the fee was a median 19.7% of the seller’s price on StubHub and 21.7% on SeatGeek, against 16.3% on Gametime’s listing pages at seven games. A lower share did not always mean a lower price, so the best comparison is the total shown at checkout before you pay for the same seat on two sites.
| Site | What the site says its shown price includes | Trustpilot (reviews) | App Store |
|---|---|---|---|
| StubHub | All mandatory fees | 4.1 (27,647) | 4.76 |
| SeatGeek | All mandatory fees | 4.2 (17,434) | 4.86 |
| Ticketmaster | Face value and required fees, generally before taxes | Not collected | Not collected |
| TickPick | No buyer fees added at checkout, per TickPick | 4.7 (5,507) | 4.85 |

Gametime and Vivid Seats as alternatives to each other
Between these two, Vivid Seats had the lower price on 58.8% of 8,327 NFL daily price checks, while Gametime was lower more often for NBA and MLB games, according to TicketScanner price data. The result depends on the league and on how close the game is, so see Gametime vs Vivid Seats before you pick one.
For reference, Gametime labels its prices “Includes Fees,” and Vivid Seats says buyers see the cost of a ticket, including fees, once they start shopping.
StubHub
StubHub’s pricing policy: the price it displays includes all mandatory fees. Its buyer fee is calculated as a percentage of the seller’s price, so a pricier listing carries a bigger fee in dollars, and StubHub does not give the percentage. It names two buyer fee types, service fees and delivery fees. At its checkout for five games on Oct. 8, 2026, the fee on the cheapest seat was a median 19.7% of the seller’s price, and tax appeared on its own line.
Ratings: 4.1 on Trustpilot from 27,647 reviews, with 30.2% one-star. On the US App Store, StubHub rated 4.76 from 1,430,583 ratings, and 4.3 on Google Play from 102K reviews. Trustpilot’s reply figure for StubHub (period not stated) shows 0 replies out of 2,098 negative reviews.
Recent reviews: among the 60 most recent English Trustpilot reviews, 9 were about parking passes and 9 had delivery or transfer as the main complaint. Four reviewers said the seat was different from the listing. None had fees at checkout as the main complaint. These are reviewers’ claims, which we did not verify.
TicketScanner price records: none. More in StubHub fees and StubHub reviews.
SeatGeek
SeatGeek’s pricing policy: the price displayed includes all mandatory fees, and taxes, shipping and optional add-ons can be added at checkout. At its checkout for five games on Oct. 8, 2026, the fee on the cheapest seat was a median 21.7% of the seller’s price; tax did not appear before the email step. A recent five-star reviewer wrote that SeatGeek showed “the actual dollar amount including fees right from the get go so no confusion.” That is one buyer’s account.
Ratings: 4.2 on Trustpilot from 17,434 reviews, with 13.9% one-star. On the US App Store, SeatGeek rated 4.86 from 1,078,648 ratings, the highest of the five apps, and 4.5 on Google Play from 45.2K reviews. Trustpilot shows SeatGeek replying to 47.9% of negative reviews.
Recent reviews: among the 60 most recent, 9 had delivery or transfer as the main complaint and 3 said the seat was different from the listing. One reviewer wrote, “I was charged twice for my tickets.”
TicketScanner price records: none. More in SeatGeek fees and SeatGeek reviews.
Ticketmaster
Ticketmaster’s pricing policy: its upfront price includes the face value and all required fees, generally before taxes. Its main fee is a service fee charged once per ticket. Some events add a facility charge that the venue sets, and Ticketmaster says it does not keep any portion of it. Delivery fees for some delivery methods and taxes can be added at checkout.
Ticketmaster also lists resale tickets, priced by the reseller, with resale service fees. For Face Value Exchange tickets, it says it does not charge resale fees. Its help pages give no fee percentage or dollar amount.
Ratings: we did not collect Ticketmaster’s Trustpilot or App Store figures.
TicketScanner price records: none. More in Ticketmaster fees.
TickPick
TickPick’s pricing policy: it does not add buyer fees at checkout. Its User Agreement, last updated Aug. 5, 2026, also says a purchase may include “Transaction Fees,” described as platform or transaction commissions for using the site.
Ratings: 4.7 on Trustpilot from 5,507 reviews, with 89.5% five-star and 6.8% one-star. On the US App Store, TickPick rated 4.85 from 389,537 ratings, and 4.8 on Google Play from 60.8K reviews.
Recent reviews: 51 of the 60 most recent were positive, and 3 had delivery or transfer as the main complaint. One reviewer wrote, “Easy to get the best tickets. No surprise charges.”
TicketScanner price records: none. More in Gametime vs TickPick and TickPick reviews.
Apps like Gametime: how the apps are rated
All five apps are rated highly on the US App Store, so the stars do not separate them much.
| App | App Store rating | App Store ratings | Google Play |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gametime | 4.66 | 273,627 | 4.8 |
| Vivid Seats | 4.75 | 403,929 | 4.7 |
| StubHub | 4.76 | 1,430,583 | 4.3 |
| SeatGeek | 4.86 | 1,078,648 | 4.5 |
| TickPick | 4.85 | 389,537 | 4.8 |
Source: US App Store and Google Play, Oct. 8, 2026. Ticketmaster was not collected.
Apps can prompt satisfied users to rate them, which helps explain why all five sit between 4.66 and 4.86.
How many recent reviews were invited?
Trustpilot marks whether a review came through a company invitation. In the latest 60 reviews of each site, the split was very different.
| Site | Invited | Not invited | Not invited, one or two stars |
|---|---|---|---|
| StubHub | 40 | 20 | 19 |
| SeatGeek | 44 | 16 | 15 |
| Gametime | 56 | 4 | 3 |
| TickPick | 57 | 3 | 2 |
| Vivid Seats | 60 | 0 | 0 |

Score differences may partly reflect how many reviews each company invites. Sixty reviews cover only a few days at each site.
How to check an alternative before you buy
Pick the same game, section and number of tickets on two sites, check that the cheapest listing is a seat, and compare the total shown at checkout before you pay, including tax and delivery. On Gametime, the cheapest listing at two Cowboys games and one Eagles game was standing room. The full checklist and the federal rule on showing total prices are in which ticket site has the lowest fees.
How we measured
TicketScanner records the lowest listed price (the get-in price) for each tracked game once a day, around 9 a.m. ET, on each site it compares. These are the prices the sites show with their fees included; depending on the site and the state, sales tax may already be in the price or added at checkout. We compared Gametime and Vivid Seats only when both sites had a price for the same game on the same day. Each of those matches is one daily price check, and percentages use daily price checks, not games, as the base. Different time windows include different games, so compare windows with care. Listings named as season tickets or parking were excluded, but the lowest listing can still be a standing-room or other non-seat ticket. Source: TicketScanner price data.
On Oct. 8, 2026, we recorded each site’s public rating and review count on Trustpilot, the US App Store and Google Play. We then read the 60 most recent English reviews on Trustpilot and sorted each one by its main complaint (delivery or transfer, refunds, fees at checkout, invalid tickets, customer service, app bugs, seat different from the listing, account or payment) or as positive. Sixty reviews cover only a few days, so they show what people are writing now, not the whole history. Reviews are the writers’ own claims, which we did not verify. App Store review text could not be retrieved, so it is not included.
Data as of Oct. 8, 2026 (prices recorded through Oct. 7, 2026).
For this article, we checked each site’s help, fee and terms pages on Oct. 8, 2026. Fee shares were calculated by dividing fees by the seller’s price for the cheapest seated listing for two tickets, using the first checkout page for StubHub and SeatGeek and the listing page for Gametime, on Oct. 8, 2026. NFL price data covers July 29 to Oct. 7, 2026.
FAQ
What is the best alternative to Vivid Seats?
It depends on the game. Gametime is the only alternative TicketScanner can compare on price, and it was lower more often for NBA and MLB games. For other sites, compare the checkout total for the same seat.
Are there apps like Gametime with lower fees?
No site we checked publishes a fee rate. On Oct. 8, 2026, Gametime’s fee on the cheapest seat, read from its listing pages, was a median 16.3% of the seller’s price, below the 19.7% on StubHub and 21.7% on SeatGeek at checkout, but a lower share did not always mean a lower price: at one game, StubHub’s fee share was higher than SeatGeek’s and its seat was still cheaper with fees included. TickPick says it does not add buyer fees at checkout, though its User Agreement mentions transaction fees. Compare totals at checkout.
Does TicketScanner compare StubHub, SeatGeek or TickPick prices?
