Who writes StubHub’s reviews

StubHub is the only one of the five without a paid Trustpilot plan label, but it still invites reviews. Of its 60 newest, 40 came through an invitation and 20 were written without one.

Those two groups read very differently. Nineteen of the 20 uninvited reviews were one or two stars. Of the 40 invited reviews, three were.

Uninvited reviews skewed the same way elsewhere: 15 of SeatGeek’s 16, three of Gametime’s four and two of TickPick’s three were one or two stars. Vivid Seats had none in its latest 60. Score differences between the sites may partly reflect how many reviews each company invites.

Late or missing tickets were the most common complaint. Reviewers described tickets that arrived on the day of the event or after it started, and support that ran through a chatbot. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “Their publicly listed customer service phone number tells you to connect via the app.” Customer service was mentioned as a secondary complaint in nine reviews.

The positive reviews were usually short. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “Smooth transaction and received tickets well in advance of event.”

Four of the 60 were written by sellers, about payouts, charges after a listing error and how StubHub labeled their prices. The rest of this article is about the buyer experience.

Parking passes: nine of the 60 reviews

Nine of StubHub’s 60 newest reviews were about a parking pass bought on StubHub, not a game or concert ticket. These are the reviewers’ own accounts:

  • A reviewer said they paid for a garage close to the venue and were moved to what StubHub called a “free upgrade,” a garage the reviewer said was over a mile away.
  • Three reviewers said they paid twice: once on StubHub and again at the lot, after a code would not scan or the location changed.
  • One reviewer said a pass bought months ahead could not be opened until about three hours before the show.
  • One reviewer said the reminder email pinned the wrong garage on the map.
  • One reviewer said they paid for parking at a game they could not get into. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “Paid for parking to a game I could not enter.”

If you buy parking on StubHub, check the lot’s address against the venue’s own parking map, and open the pass before you leave home.

Seats that did not match the listing

Four reviews described tickets or parking that did not match the listing. A Trustpilot reviewer at a concert wrote, “my view was about 70% obstructed by a massive structure.” The reviewer said the listing did not mention it.

A college football reviewer said StubHub moved their seats from near the 50-yard line to the end zone after the order. An NFL reviewer said the tickets arrived on game day and were not the ones bought. The parking “upgrade” above is the fourth.

Before you buy, look for words like “obstructed,” “limited view” or “standing room” in the listing notes, and check the section and row against a seating chart.

What StubHub reviews say about fees

None of the 60 reviews listed fees as the main complaint, but four mentioned fees as a secondary issue. One five-star reviewer added a caveat: “I’m not a fan of the add on charges.”

StubHub says its displayed price includes all mandatory fees, and that its buyer fee is a percentage of the seller’s price, so pricier listings carry higher fees. It does not publish the rate. The full breakdown is in our StubHub fees guide.

StubHub’s buyer protection program is called FanProtect. Read its terms for what it covers; we did not test a claim.

StubHub app reviews

StubHub has the most App Store ratings of the five sites: 1,430,583, averaging 4.76, with 2.4% one-star. On Google Play it rates 4.3 from 102K reviews, with 10M+ downloads.

All five sites rate between 4.66 and 4.86 on the App Store, where apps can ask users for a rating, so the stores barely separate them. We could not retrieve App Store review text, so those reviews were excluded from our complaint analysis.

TicketScanner does not record StubHub prices, so we cannot say how often StubHub is cheaper. Our price comparison covers Gametime vs Vivid Seats, and our guide to which ticket site has the lowest fees covers what each site says about fees.

How we measured

> On Oct. 8, 2026, we recorded each site’s public rating and review count on Trustpilot, the US App Store and Google Play. We then read the 60 most recent English reviews on Trustpilot and sorted each one by its main complaint (delivery or transfer, refunds, fees at checkout, invalid tickets, customer service, app bugs, seat different from the listing, account or payment) or as positive. Sixty reviews cover only a few days, so they show what people are writing now, not the whole history. Reviews are the writers’ own claims, which we did not verify. App Store review text could not be retrieved, so it is not included.

Parking reviews were counted separately from the main topic, so a parking review can also sit under delivery, seat, invalid pass or other. Invited and uninvited counts use the source tag Trustpilot attaches to each review.

Data as of Oct. 8, 2026.
