by TicketScanner Team
Key Takeaways
- In 2024 (Dodgers vs. Yankees), every game’s cheapest ticket on SeatGeek was above $1,000 four days before Game 1, per NBC New York. In 2023 (Rangers vs. Diamondbacks), get-ins started at $451 for standing room on TickPick.
- For the 2025 Dodger Stadium games, the New York Post found get-ins of $755 to $818 including fees on Vivid Seats on Oct. 21, 2025. On the morning of Game 7 in Toronto, standing room started at $1,031 on SeatGeek, per Yahoo Sports, which did not state fees or currency.
- The state of the series affected prices more than the calendar. The 2024 Game 4 get-in at Yankee Stadium fell to $498 before fees with the Yankees down 3-0, while Toronto’s standing room pass climbed from about C$900 on Game 1 day to C$2,088.45 once the Blue Jays could clinch.
- Team prices are high too. The Dodgers’ Oct. 14, 2025, team-site low for World Series seats was $881.95 with fees; the Vivid Seats get-in on the day of Game 3 was $688 including fees.
How much are World Series tickets?
Among snapshots from U.S. ballparks listed in U.S. dollars over the last three World Series, the cheapest ticket cost about $450 to $1,400, depending on the year, city and game. In 2024, every game started above $1,000 on SeatGeek days before Game 1. In 2025, Dodger Stadium get-ins on Vivid Seats ran $688 to $818 with fees.
Toronto prices were higher. The 2025 Game 6 and Game 7 get-ins on Ticketmaster Canada, C$2,088.45 and C$2,414.88, were roughly US$1,490 and US$1,730 at the Bank of Canada’s Oct. 30, 2025, exchange rate of 1.3987 Canadian dollars per U.S. dollar.

2023 World Series: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks
The 2023 series was much cheaper. On Oct. 25, 2023, TickPick, whose listed prices include fees, had Game 1 in Arlington at $451 for standing room and $774 for a seat, Game 2 at $497 and $758, Game 3 in Phoenix at $727 and Game 4 at $543, per NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth. Vivid Seats told the Associated Press its 2024 average ticket price was $1,368, double the $685 average for 2023, per CBS Sports.
Game 1 vs. Game 3 vs. Game 7: how the game number changes the price
MLB’s 2-3-2 format puts Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 in the city with home-field advantage and Games 3, 4 and 5 in the other city. Games 1 through 4 are always played; Games 5, 6 and 7 are “if necessary.”
Games 1 and 2
The opening games are certain to happen, which did not make them cheap. The 2024 Game 1 at Dodger Stadium started at $1,034 on SeatGeek on Oct. 21, and the 2025 Game 1 in Toronto still cost C$1,009 hours before first pitch.
Games 3, 4 and 5
The home city often matters as much as the game number. In 2024, CBS Sports reported that prices for Games 3 to 5 at Yankee Stadium were 40% higher than for any of the four potential games in Los Angeles, without saying which price measure. CBS News reported average prices of around $1,700 for the Los Angeles games, according to SeatGeek, and around $2,300 for New York games, partly because Yankee Stadium holds fewer fans than Dodger Stadium. Get-ins did not follow the pattern exactly: New York’s Games 4 and 5 ($1,110) started below Los Angeles’ Game 2 ($1,209).
Games 6 and 7
Potential clinching games often carried a premium. In 2024, the two unplayed Los Angeles games were listed at $1,359 and $1,297 on Oct. 21, above Games 4 and 5 in New York; by Oct. 30, Game 7 started at $1,400. In 2025, Heavy found Game 7 at C$2,414.88 and Game 6 at C$2,088.45 on Ticketmaster on Oct. 30. Ticketmaster says tickets for playoff games that are not played are refunded; other sellers set their own terms (see the playoff ticket guide).
How World Series prices moved in the final days
Past reporting shows no single direction. The state of the series did most of the work.
Prices fell when the home team was in trouble. With the Yankees down 3-0 in 2024, the StubHub get-in for Game 4 at Yankee Stadium was $498 before fees that morning, and Vivid Seats standing room fell from $585 on Monday to $453 on Tuesday, per CBS Sports. SeatGeek, a different marketplace, had listed Game 4 at $1,110 eight days earlier.
Prices recovered when the series remained alive. After the Yankees won Game 4, the number of Game 5 tickets sold on StubHub jumped 51%, according to the company, and NBC New York reported a $570 starting price for standing room.
Prices rose when the home team could clinch. Toronto’s Outfield District standing room pass was about C$900 on Ticketmaster resale on the day of Game 1, per CP24. After the Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead, Heavy found the cheapest Game 6 ticket, the same pass, at C$2,088.45.
Some games softened before first pitch. The New York Post’s cheapest 2025 Game 3 ticket in Los Angeles fell from $818 on Oct. 21 to $688 on game day, both including fees. In Toronto, CP24 said Game 1’s cheapest seats had been listed on resale sites for about C$2,000 at one point; by 6 p.m. on game day, the cheapest verified resale ticket on Ticketmaster was C$1,009.
SeatGeek’s Chris Leyden told CBS News in 2024: “Sometimes prices come down for championship events, sometimes they go up.” TicketScanner’s regular-season data shows a similar split. Among 225 MLB games from mid-July to Sept. 13, 2026, 27% of the priciest third rose more than 10% between 15-30 days out and game day or the day before, against 16% of the cheapest third, though 45% of the priciest third still fell by more than 10%. More in do tickets get cheaper closer to the game.
World Series tickets face value: what teams charge
| Team and year | Posted World Series price | What the price covers |
|---|---|---|
| Yankees, 2026 (season licensees only) | $165.50 to $2,206 per game | Includes MLB processing fee and New York sales taxes |
| Dodgers, 2025 (team website, Oct. 14) | $881.95 to $1,510.05 | Includes fees ($800 ticket plus $81.95 at the low end) |
| Blue Jays, 2025 (public sale) | C$345 standing room; C$495 (500 Level); C$750 (200 Level) | Plus taxes and fees |
Sources: New York Yankees 2026 postseason pricing page; Los Angeles Times via Yahoo Sports; CP24. The Yankees grid applies to full-season and partial-plan licensees, not public single-game sales.
Face value was not always below resale in 2025. The Dodgers’ Oct. 14 team-site low of $881.95, which the Los Angeles Times said was “subject to change based on demand,” was above the $688 Vivid Seats get-in on the day of Game 3. In Toronto, the reverse: Outfield District standing room cost C$20 in the regular season and C$345 at the World Series on-sale, per CP24, then more than C$1,600 on Ticketmaster resale at noon on the day of Game 6.
The Yankees’ grid shows the climb by round. In its cheapest grandstand tier, a 2026 Wild Card or ALDS seat costs season licensees $50.64 to $72.53, an ALCS seat $83 to $123.80 and a World Series seat $165.50 to $317.62.

What TicketScanner shows before the 2026 World Series
TicketScanner has no 2026 World Series prices because the games are not listed yet. Once they are, it plans to track each game’s get-in price daily at ticketscanner.live/mlb.
For scale, the median game-day get-in for regular-season games TicketScanner tracked from mid-July to Sept. 13, 2026, was $20 before fees. Among home games tracked from May 22 to Sept. 13, 2026, the Dodgers’ median get-in was $59 and the Blue Jays’ $49 (full ranking in cheapest MLB tickets team by team). The 2025 Game 3 get-in at Dodger Stadium on Vivid Seats, $688, was more than 11 times that Dodgers median, though the figures differ in year and fee basis. For regular-season timing, see the best time to buy MLB tickets.
How TicketScanner measured this
TicketScanner records the get-in price, the cheapest listed ticket for a game across the resale marketplaces it monitors, each morning at about 9 a.m. ET, in U.S. dollars before fees. The $20 figure is the median game-day get-in across 283 completed MLB games. The team figures are medians across 15 (Dodgers) and 16 (Blue Jays) tracked home games, priced on game day or the day before. The 27%, 16% and 45% figures compare 225 completed games 15-30 days out with game day or the day before. No postseason games are included.
TicketScanner tracks a subset of MLB games, not every game. For example, it tracks 55 upcoming games scheduled Sept. 14 to 26, while MLB plays up to 15 games a day.
