by TicketScanner Team

Update:

Compare Gametime and Vivid Seats get-in prices for every NFL game on TicketScanner’s NFL page.

Key Takeaways

  • Gametime scores 4.4 on Trustpilot from 10,090 reviews. Late or unusable tickets led the complaints in its newest reviews.
  • In the final three days before completed games, Gametime had the lower price more often than Vivid Seats in every league, though not within the same NHL games.
  • Gametime’s fee on the cheapest seated listing was a median 16.3% of the seller’s price across seven games we checked.
  • Two reviewers said they were sent to a second app for their tickets, so open tickets as soon as they arrive and check whether they need another account.

Gametime app reviews

Gametime is an app-first ticket seller, so its app ratings carry weight. On the US App Store it averages 4.66 from 273,627 ratings: 85.1% five-star and 5.2% one-star. The next highest one-star share among the five sites is 2.4%, at StubHub and Vivid Seats.

On Google Play, Gametime rates 4.8 from 90.6K reviews, tied with TickPick for the top Google Play rating of the five, with 5M+ downloads.

All five sites rate between 4.66 and 4.86 on the App Store, where apps can ask users for a rating. App Store review text was not available to us, so we cannot say what Gametime’s one-star App Store reviewers wrote.

Gametime on Trustpilot

Gametime has 10,090 Trustpilot reviews, and 6,394 of them came in the last 12 months, so its score leans on recent orders. The split: 71.7% five-star and 16.1% one-star. Trustpilot shows that Gametime replied to 92.4% of its negative reviews, 658 of 712, usually within about five days.

Ticket delivery and access issues were the most common complaints. A Trustpilot reviewer who gave three stars wrote, “Lost out on the first 12 minutes of the game.” Two reviewers said they were sent to a second app, MLB’s or Ticketmaster’s, to claim their tickets and were not told before paying. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “Ticket unusable on iPhone and the event is tomorrow,” about a game in London.

The one invalid-pass review was about parking. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “I learned the parking was sold to more than one party.” Another reviewer said they found cheaper tickets on another site a few days after buying, and one said the app’s keyboard did not work at login.

Speed came up on the positive side, too. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “Tickets arrived just after purchase! Great price too!!!”

What Gametime reviews say about fees

None of the 60 named fees as the main complaint. A five-star Trustpilot reviewer wrote, “The price shown is the final price.”

That is close, but sales tax can still be added. Gametime listing pages say prices include fees. For one Rangers at Capitals seat on Oct. 8, the seller’s price was $63 and fees were $10.92, for $73.92; sales tax of $1.08 brought it to $75.

At seven NFL, NHL and NBA games, Gametime’s fee on the cheapest seated listing was a median 16.3% of the seller’s price. Across all 1,754 seated listings, the median was 15.5%. Gametime’s terms say it can change fees at any time. Our Gametime vs TickPick comparison and guide to which ticket site has the lowest fees put that number next to other sites.

Beyond reviews: how Gametime prices compared near game day

TicketScanner price data compares Gametime’s lowest fee-included price with Vivid Seats’ for the same game on the same day.

League Daily checks (games) Gametime lower Vivid Seats lower
NFL 8,327 (263) 31.6% 58.8%
NHL 38,659 (1,066) 36.2% 45.4%
NBA 16,993 (940) 45.2% 30.3%

NBA numbers are mostly listed prices for upcoming games: only 11 NBA games had been played, all preseason. NFL games include the preseason.

Timing changed which site was lower more often

In the final three days (game day and the three days before) of completed games, Gametime had the lower price more often in every league. For NFL regular-season games only, its lead was smaller: 48.9% against Vivid Seats’ 41.6% of 178 checks on 56 games. The 36 NFL preseason games leaned harder to Gametime.

Window (completed games) Daily checks Gametime lower Vivid Seats lower
NFL, all, final 3 days 303 55.8% 33.3%
NFL regular season, final 3 days 178 48.9% 41.6%
NHL, final 3 days 372 51.6% 35.2%
MLB, final 3 days 851 48.4% 34.3%
NFL, over 30 days out 86 22.1% 72.1%
NHL, over 30 days out 323 21.4% 62.8%

Source: TicketScanner price data. The rest of each row is the share where both sites had the same price.

A month or more out, Vivid Seats was lower more often, in 72.1% of only 86 NFL checks on 15 games and 62.8% of 323 NHL checks on 62 games. Completed NHL games in the data were mostly played Sept. 19 to Oct. 5, 2026.

These time periods cover different groups of games, though. In the 62 NHL games tracked both a month out and in the final three days, Vivid Seats was still lower more often in the final three days: 49.1% against Gametime’s 41.2% of 165 checks. So Gametime was cheaper more often across all games tracked near game day, but not within the same NHL games. Check both sites. For the late window in detail, see Gametime last-minute tickets.

Teams where Gametime was usually lower

For Florida Panthers home games, Gametime had the lower get-in price in 62.5% of 1,162 daily checks. For Detroit Pistons home games it was 83.9% of 558 checks; those are listed prices for upcoming games. See the Panthers and Pistons pages for current prices.

Dallas Cowboys home games also leaned to Gametime, but at two Cowboys games we checked on Oct. 8, Gametime’s lowest listing was standing room, so that lean does not apply to seats. The full two-site comparison is in Gametime vs Vivid Seats.

How we measured

> On Oct. 8, 2026, we recorded each site’s public rating and review count on Trustpilot, the US App Store and Google Play. We then read the 60 most recent English reviews on Trustpilot and sorted each one by its main complaint (delivery or transfer, refunds, fees at checkout, invalid tickets, customer service, app bugs, seat different from the listing, account or payment) or as positive. Sixty reviews cover only a few days, so they show what people are writing now, not the whole history. Reviews are the writers’ own claims, which we did not verify. App Store review text could not be retrieved, so it is not included.

> TicketScanner records the lowest listed price (the get-in price) for each tracked game once a day, around 9 a.m. ET, on each site it compares. These are the prices the sites show with their fees included; depending on the site and the state, sales tax may already be in the price or added at checkout. We compared Gametime and Vivid Seats only when both sites had a price for the same game on the same day. Each of those matches is one daily price check, and percentages use daily price checks, not games, as the base. Different time windows include different games, so compare windows with care. Listings named as season tickets or parking were excluded, but the lowest listing can still be a standing-room or other non-seat ticket. Source: TicketScanner price data.

The fee figures come from Gametime listings we opened on Oct. 8, 2026, without an account and without buying: the seller’s price, fees and total for seated tickets, two per order. Fee percentages are fees divided by the seller’s price.

Data as of Oct. 8, 2026 (prices recorded through Oct. 7, 2026).

FAQ

What do recent Gametime reviews complain about most?

Tickets that arrived late, never came or would not open. That was the main complaint in eight of the 60 most recent Trustpilot reviews, including two reviewers who said they were sent to a second app. One reviewer said a parking pass was sold twice.

How many recent Gametime reviews were invited?

Of the 60 most recent English Trustpilot reviews, 56 came through a Gametime invitation and four did not. Three of the four uninvited reviews were one or two stars.

Is Gametime cheaper than Vivid Seats?

It depends on the league and timing. Over all daily checks, Gametime was lower more often for NBA and MLB, and Vivid Seats for NFL and NHL. In the final three days before completed games, Gametime led in every league, though not within the same NHL games, so check both.

Does Gametime’s price include fees?

Gametime says its listed price includes fees. Sales tax can be added: one Oct. 8 seat at $63 plus $10.92 in fees came to $75 with tax. On the cheapest seat at seven games in our check, the fee was a median 16.3% of the seller’s price.

How does Gametime’s App Store rating compare with Trustpilot?

Gametime rates 4.66 on the US App Store from 273,627 ratings and 4.4 on Trustpilot from 10,090 reviews. The two measure different groups of people, so neither is the single true score.

Check get-in prices on TicketScanner’s NHL page before you buy.
