How we measured the cheapest NFL tickets

TicketScanner records the get-in price for every NFL game each day. The get-in price is the cheapest listed ticket for that game across the resale marketplaces TicketScanner tracks, in U.S. dollars, before fees. It’s the price you see when sorting listings from low to high, not an average seat.

For this ranking we took a snapshot on Aug. 25, 2026, the week before the regular season opens on Sept. 9. For each of the 31 teams with tracked home games we looked at every upcoming home game still on the calendar (seven to 10 games per team) and used the median get-in across those games. The “lowest game” and “highest game” columns are the cheapest and priciest single home dates in that set.

Two notes on reading the table. First, a few teams still had a preseason home game on the calendar on Aug. 25, and preseason get-ins are very low. That is why the Browns have a $4 lowest game and the Dolphins have a $7 lowest game. Second, this is a pre-Week 1 snapshot. Prices move daily once the season starts, so check the live number before you buy.

The spread is wide. The Titans’ median is roughly one-twelfth of the Bears’ median, a bigger gap than the one in our NHL ranking (see /blog/cheapest-nhl-tickets-team-by-team, where teams ran from $25 to $152).

The 10 cheapest NFL teams for 2026, and why

The bottom of the table is mostly teams coming off losing seasons, plus one huge stadium with a lot of seats to fill. 2025 records are from the final NFL standings.

  1. Tennessee Titans, $24 median. The Titans went 3-14 in 2025, changed head coaches twice in a year (Robert Saleh was hired in January) and are playing their final season at the current Nissan Stadium (69,143 seats) before a new $2.1 billion, 60,000-seat stadium opens in 2027.
  2. Cleveland Browns, $28 median. Cleveland finished 5-12, fired Kevin Stefanski the day after the season and plays in a 67,895-seat lakefront stadium the team plans to leave for a new dome in Brook Park in 2029. The $4 lowest game is a preseason listing.
  3. Dallas Cowboys, $40 median. This one is about supply. Dallas went 7-9-1, yet still led the NFL with 92,991 fans per home game at AT&T Stadium in 2025. With that many seats, the resale floor stays low even for the league’s most-watched brand.
  4. Indianapolis Colts, $50 median. The Colts went 8-9 and play in a 67,000-seat dome. The Week 1 home opener against the Ravens is the kind of date that explains the $200 high end.
  5. New Orleans Saints, $59 median. New Orleans went 6-11, and Saints home games against the Panthers, Browns and Cardinals were flagged as some of the cheapest median-price games on the 2026 schedule the day after the schedule release.
  6. Carolina Panthers, $64 median. Carolina was 8-9 in 2025 and plays in 75,037-seat Bank of America Stadium, one of the league’s larger buildings. The $10 lowest game is preseason.
  7. Arizona Cardinals, $65 median. A 3-14 season and a 63,400-seat dome in the Phoenix suburbs.
  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $66 median. Tampa Bay was 8-9. The $51 lowest game is the highest floor among the cheap 10: the Bucs are inexpensive across the board, not cheap on one dead date.
  9. New York Jets, $67 median. The Jets went 3-14 and share 82,500-seat MetLife Stadium, the largest in the NFL, with the Giants. A losing team plus the most seats equals a low get-in.
  10. Baltimore Ravens, $75 median. Baltimore slipped to 8-9 in 2025. The range is tight ($45 to $116), which makes the Ravens a predictable buy.

Every team in this group finished 2025 with a losing record. That is the simplest explanation for cheap football tickets: demand follows last season’s wins.

The most expensive NFL teams and what is driving the price

Eight teams have a median get-in above $200. The reasons fall into three groups: a title run, a new or small stadium, or a fan base that sells out no matter what.

Chicago Bears ($286 median). The Bears went 11-6, won the NFC North and got their first playoff win in 15 years. The team then raised season-ticket prices an average of 13.5% for 2026, its third straight increase. Soldier Field lists 62,500 seats, one of the smallest capacities in the league, and an Action Network study in August put the Bears’ cost for four tickets at $2,049.80, the highest in the NFL. Even their cheapest home game starts at $189.

Buffalo Bills ($275 median). Buffalo opened the new $2.1 billion Highmark Stadium (60,108 seats) this summer and plays its first regular-season game there in Week 2 against the Lions on Thursday night. The move came with personal seat licenses from $750 to $50,000 and, per TickPick data reported in August, the highest average ticket price in the league at $610.

Seattle Seahawks ($241 median). Seattle is the reigning champion after beating New England 29-13 in Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, 2026, at the end of a 14-3 season. Season tickets are sold out and the team’s wait list is capped at 12,000 members. Their range ($99 to $291) is narrow for a champion: the price is high on almost every date rather than spiking on one.

Denver Broncos ($224 median). The Broncos went 14-3 and earned the AFC’s No. 1 seed, then reported a franchise-record 99.5% season-ticket renewal rate despite a 9% price increase. The team’s own site says the wait list has over 100,000 names.

New England Patriots ($224 median). A 14-3 season and an AFC title raised prices roughly 7% at Gillette Stadium (66,829 seats), and season tickets are sold out. Their $80 lowest game shows there is still a way in on the right date.

Green Bay Packers ($216 median). Lambeau Field holds 81,441, so this is demand, not supply: the Packers have five home prime-time games in 2026, the most in team history if none are flexed, and close the regular season at home against the Lions. The $47 lowest game is a preseason date.

Detroit Lions ($212 median). Detroit went 9-8 and missed the playoffs, and still sold out season tickets in four days in March for the fourth straight year, with about 20,000 people left on the wait list. Ford Field holds 65,000. The Lions’ $177 lowest game is the highest floor in the league: there is no cheap night in Detroit.

Las Vegas Raiders ($206 median). The Raiders went 3-14, and the Action Network study found the price of four tickets fell by more than for any team except the Steelers, yet they still ranked sixth-most expensive in the NFL. Allegiant Stadium seats 66,000 in a tourist city, and visiting fans keep the get-in high regardless of the standings.

One more team worth flagging: the Jacksonville Jaguars ($140 median) went 13-4 and are playing 2026 in an EverBank Stadium cut to 42,507 seats by renovation, with two home games moved to London. That is why a small-market team ranks 21st, above the Chiefs.

The marquee-game effect: why the “highest game” column matters

Seven teams have a single home date with a get-in above $300: the Packers ($561), 49ers ($442), Bears ($380), Lions ($347), Raiders ($336), Bills ($334) and Jaguars ($327). What matters is the gap between that date and the team’s median. Green Bay’s priciest home game is about 2.6 times its $216 median, San Francisco’s is about 2.6 times its $170 median, and Jacksonville’s is about 2.3 times its $140 median. For the Bears, Lions and Bills the gap is smaller because the median is already high.

These are the dates a home schedule gets built around: a rivalry, a prime-time slot, a holiday game or a visit from a contender. We have not verified the opponent behind each listing, so treat them as the one game you pay up for. The rest of the schedule, which the median captures, sits much closer to the lowest-game number.

Do not judge a team by its most expensive game, or by its cheapest, which is often preseason. The median is what a normal Sunday costs. That is why the Chiefs ($133 median, $13 to $201 range) can be a better value than their reputation suggests, and why the 49ers ($170 median) only look like a $442 team on one date.

How to use these numbers

Pick the opponent before the team. The same stadium can swing from $13 to $201 (Chiefs) or $34 to $221 (Eagles) depending on who is visiting. Third-party surveys after the schedule release found the same thing from the other side: Gametime data on May 15 had Browns at Titans ($29) and Texans at Titans ($34) among the five cheapest get-ins on the whole schedule, and a June travel-cost survey found the cheapest ticket on the Jets’, Jaguars’ and Eagles’ calendars was their trip to Nashville. Sort a team’s home games by get-in price rather than assuming the whole season is expensive.

Look at the floor, not just the median. The Bucs ($51 floor) and Ravens ($45 floor) are consistently affordable. The Lions ($177 floor) and Bears ($189 floor) are not affordable on any date. The Packers, Patriots and Bills each have a lowest game under $100, so a fan with a flexible schedule can still get into a premium stadium.

Weeknights and late season are where value usually hides. Thursday and Monday games draw smaller traveling crowds, and late-December games between teams out of the race tend to soften. We can see that clearly in baseball, where Friday games ran roughly 70% higher than Tuesday games ($29 vs. $17 median get-in) in TicketScanner’s MLB tracking, May 22 to Aug. 25, 2026 (see /blog/best-time-to-buy-mlb-tickets).
